Dawn,
I was surprise while listening to CNN this morning that Karl Rove is being referred to as the Architect of the Bush presidency. They used the term Architect and Architecture several time. While I can not even refer to my intern as Intern Architect, why is AIA allowing the term to be used for political designations? How come the term Attorney and Doctor can not be used to describe others not licensed to practice those professions and Architect can?
I am further confused at the fact that anyone can be fined by the State Board for using the term Architect without certification while the term is not regulated and can be used by everyone else such as CNN and Frontline (see quote from online) and even the President?
Please pass this along to AIA State and National (see links below); I’d like for the AIA to look into this.

“”Bush nicknamed Rove "the architect" for creating the plan that won the White House in 2000 and 2004.””
Thanks
