Office of Cultural and Historical Programs
The new Office of Cultural and Historical Programs is within the Department of State, and is the state agency responsible for promoting the historical, archaeological, museum, arts, and folk culture resources in Florida. The Director of the Division of Historical Resources serves as Florida's State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), providing a liaison with the national historic preservation program conducted by the National Park Service. The Division of Cultural Affairs serves as the designated state arts agency.

Historic American Building Surveys
The Historic American Buildings Survey/Historic American Engineering Record (HABS/HAER) is an integral component of the federal government's commitment to historic preservation. The program documents important architectural, engineering and industrial sites throughout the United States and its territories.
 
Historic Preservation Services
Heritage Preservation Services (HPS) helps our nation's citizens and communities identify, evaluate, protect and preserve historic properties for future generations of Americans. Located in Washington, DC, the Division provides a broad range of products and services, financial assistance and incentives, educational guidance, and technical information in support of this mission. Its diverse partners include State Historic Preservation Offices, local governments, tribes, federal agencies, colleges, and non-profit organizations.

 
Historic Landscape Initiative
The National Park Service (NPS) Historic Landscape Initiative promotes responsible preservation practices that protect our nation's irreplaceable legacy--designed landscapes such as parks and gardens, as well as vernacular historic landscapes such as farms and industrial sites.

 
National Center for Preservation Technology and Training
NCPTT advances the application of science and technology to historic preservation. Working in the fields of archeology, architecture, landscape architecture and materials conservation, the Center accomplishes its mission through training, education, research, technology transfer and partnerships.

 
National Historic Landmarks Program
National Historic Landmarks (NHLs) are exceptional places that form a common bond between all Americans. NHLs can be found in our national parks and in communities in every state and territory. National Park Service Publications
The NPS Cultural Resources Stewardship and Partnership programs have many excellent publications that are of use to both the cultural resource management professional and the general public with an interest in our cultural heritage. We provide materials addressing a full range of CRM topics including historic preservation, collections management, archeology, and history. Our publications are available in print or online and many are available free of charge or for a small cost
 
National Trust for Historic Preservation
The National Trust for Historic Preservation is a private, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to saving historic places and revitalizing America's communities. Recipient of the National Humanities Medal, the Trust was founded in 1949 and provides leadership, education, advocacy, and resources to protect the irreplaceable places that tell America’s story. Staff at the Washington, D.C., headquarters, six regional offices and 28 historic sites work with the Trust’s 270,000 members and thousands of preservation groups in all 50 states.

 
Technical Preservation Services
Technical Preservation Services is the nation's leading provider of information and guidance on the care of historic buildings. The ongoing maintenance of historic buildings, the revitalization of older communities and historic districts, and the retention of craftsmanship and artistry exhibited in our built environment all contribute to the preservation of our national heritage while improving the quality of life of our citizenry. Technical Preservation Services provides the tools and information necessary to take effective measures to protect and preserve historic buildings, ranging from historic masonry and window repairs to lead paint abatement to accessibility for people with disabilities.
 
USF Tampa Libraries Special Collection
This website contains all of the USF Libraries Digital Collections created by the USF Libraries Digitization Services unit and also includes information about the USF Tampa Library Special Collections Department archive.
 
Burgert Brothers Collection
The pioneer commercial photography studio of Tampa, Burgert Brothers, was established by Al and Jean Burgert around 1917. They worked primarily in the Tampa Bay area, including Ybor City, Port Tampa, Temple Terrace, and Ballast Point, but also photographed in Orlando, Sarasota, and Key West.

The photographs in the collection record Tampa's development from a small town to a major city, with pictures of people, churches, residences, streets, factories, and businesses.

 
The Chicago Architecture Foundation
The Chicago Architecture Foundation is dedicated to advancing public interest and education in architecture and related design. Because no art other than architecture so vividly expresses what Chicago is and where it is going, CAF educates the public to expect the highest standards from Chicago's built environment.

Rehab Yes or No
The REHAB YES/NO LEARNING PROGRAM has been specially designed to make a point about how careful planning prior to rehabilitation work can result in choosing approaches that preserve the character of historic buildings in our nation's communities. Twenty brief, illustrated project case studies focus on BASIC issues that frequently arise in the process of making changes for a continuing or new use, including exteriors, interiors, sites, and new additions.
 
Save the Biltmore
Save the Biltmore Preservationists, Inc., is a nonprofit organization.  It is a group of people dedicated to saving the Belleview Biltmore Hotel, all four wings and all guest rooms so this beautiful building remains a REAL historic hotel.
